Telco's are hypocrites

For a telco to complain about a public entitity stacking the cards against them with a non level playing field is the height of hypocrisy. For years now, various business enterprises have been forced to compete with telcos over telco owned and controlled networks. What kind of level playing field is that? Has anyone heard telcos complaining about that playing field? Consumers and businesses would in fact enjoy significantly lower rates if the telcos AND cable companies were forced to divest their network infrastructures. That would open a seperate competitive marketplace for content delivery. Content providers, such as telcos (local and long distance switch providers), and entertainment service providers would then be able to compete on a truly level playing field. In this type of scenario, it would make sense to leave municipalities with the option of running their own municipal distribution network or opening it to competition. But the current network is certainly not a level playing field to begin with, so it is ludicrous for a telco operator to suggest otherwise.
