Linux is far from obscure, ...servers? routers?
I'm not quite sure which era you didn't evolve from.

I'm using Linux on my works PC at SONY.
It's a major technology here and all in my departement have a Linux Desktop.

Upstairs it is the embedded OS of choice for all the high end machines.

All production servers here are RedHat.

None of which have ANY security problems AT ALL.
I don't mean they have a small percentage of issues (compared to Windows) I mean NONE.

It isn't because they are obscure, it's because they are well maintained.

If you are running a firewall (like "FIREBOX") chances are it is running Linux.
Ever as yourself why?

Just to dispell some of the foul FUD you are spreading...

When you install Linux it sets you up with a user account DURING THE INSTALL and you log into that, not the admin account like in Windows.

Windows is more targeted becuase it is an easier target. FACT.

If you are a hacker and had the choice to bring down an organisation by hacking into there servers instead of farming some droned wouldn't it be more attractive?

YET the Linux and UNIX servers which MOST ISP's run are not compromised.

Sorry Mr STEVE BALLMER but I'm afraid you are very wrong.

Just because YOU don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there, idiot!

Actually, your right about one thing: Windows is INHERENTLY more targeted than Linux.

The use of the word inherently is correct, becuase even if Linux was the major share it would still be true.

As an example of a Windows user you are displaying how you are an easy target.

Doh!
