Beg to differ...
"Running windows with a non-admin account is no harder than running linux with one. There are plenty of resources out on the net that can help you to fix the issues that come with running as a limited user in Windows. I guess you took the easy route and went with a more obscure OS?"

But until software applications are written correctly NOT to require full admin access to the box, a non Admin account is a real PITA to set-up reliably. I just ran into a client that is using a TraceAffex CD replication machine... it HAS to be running in Admin mode to function correctly. When I asked the TraceAffex representitive why, he couldn't answer me.

I then proceeded to admonish him and his company for horrible security practices and design. This is not the only software that is setup this way. So again until Microsoft Windows based software is written to function in a restricted user account (and I mean all software that a normal user needs) Windows will remain a PITA to set-up correctly. Microsoft needs to get on 3rd party developers about this.
