Maybe a little too harsh
Unfortunately, that's one of the dangers of computing & Internet for everybody. Not all understand, even if they are told, the intricacies of the Internet and all the "messages" that fly through their browsers. The easiest is to ignore all financial inquiries and contact the institution in person. Which means not by e-mail--too good a chance that an ill informed person would use the e-mail address in the phish. If the "ligitimate" (I don't think any e-mail solicitation is "ligitimate") solicitors want their message seen, they need to financially get behind programs to rid us of phishers, including International laws. The US could pass laws regulating International e-mails sent to the US & freeze any assets they could grab on to for violators. Screw the rest of the world as to what they may think of us. But, then again, in this forum we are preaching to the choir.
