become www and internet savy....
justlike people become street savy. Buy books or go to the library and read about it. Be very proactive with your kids. When they are chatting make sure that it is only when you are there watching them. Let them cry about privacy but remember that you being theparent HAVE to be in control. Download a keystroke logger and set it up on the computer to check to see what not only the kids are saying but what is being said to them. I dont have kids but have a lot of nieces and nephews from 4-17. the older girls were in a lot of chat rooms until I bought a copy of Ghost Keylogger and gave it to my sis-inlaw and she saw the things going on there. No more playing innocent the girls were busted too though they claimed they were just playing. It is too dangerous to JUST play. Be smarter than the kids and let them know you are doing it because you love them. The internet is a wonderful place but like life it also has a very bad downside. Get a firewall and antivirus, there are free ones out there, a little checking will garner big rewards. Remember also that the government also made it YOUR responsibilty to have a firewall and antivirus and if your computer is used in as a zombie in an attack you can be held liable for damages. Be smart, trust nobody and check out anything that looks suspect.
