- Im just a single Mom
-
Reading some of the comments posted everyone has different ideas, thoughts and opinions . That being said I am just a single Mom with kids ranging from 6 to 15 yrs. old.
The government is scared and it is very obvious! But so am I! I fear some freak talking to my kids pretending their just another kid. I fear someone getting access to personal information be it mine or my kids.I fear what the future holds for my kids. All because of the "Internet", "World Wide Web" or whatever you want to call it.. But I wouldn't stop using it.It is the best thing ever invented. The problem is everyone is capable of using it. The internet has opened up everything to anyone with a brain. Be that brain sane or insane. It really is not different now then in the past. If you wanted information it was always out there you just had to look. This is where the diffence comes in. You had to go OUT and look. Now just turn on the computer and hook up to the web. Some freak dosen't have to go hang out at the playgrounds. Some criminal dosen't have to risk being caught arrested or being killed in a shoot out at the bank. Some picked on bullied kid dosen't have to take it anymore! If someone feels wronged he can let the world know. All without anyone knowing who they really are. Just with the push of a few keys on a keyboard. The Information is there somewhere. That information may be harmful or helpful. It all depends on who is reading it. How do you stop that? How do you control that. How on earth can anyone pull the plug on that?
But as I said I am just a mom with kids. Doing my best to protect them and myself while giving them the advantage that the other kids in school have in completing their homework and keeping up with the Jones's. We all have our rights, but some aren't capable to handle those rights. How do we fix that? - Posted by: quinton11@... Posted on: 04/03/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
