Id Cards
From what I gather .
The Reason for ID cards in the UK is a consequence of being a member of the European comunity.
The British government has been working on this for years.
I believe there was talk about it in Maggy Thatchers time.
I lived and worked in several European countries over a period of 25 years and was obliged to carry an identity card.
At first I was worried but I must say that it was more of a help than a hinderance on a day to day basis when it came to dealing with the governmental departments of these countries.
What the Americans have as an advantage in this is their lack of a national daterbase.
They have State daterbases but have not yet integrated them all into one big one.
Of course this will come and then they to will get an ID card.
I must say though, that it just shows how these laws are juggled in all countries in order to come to get them passed.
The British will all have ID cards and that is certain.
I am a little concerned about the Biometrics database but at least we know that this one exists.
What databases are we unaware of?
