This spouse is being monitored for quality control purposes
This is just the latest in a long line of monitorware that can be installed without the knowledge of the monitoree. Just Google "cheating spouses" and you come up with a mindboggling array of covert surveillance devices you can use against your unsuspecting spouse, child, or anyone to whom you can get access to plant it on. Of course it can and will be used for nefarious purposes, but the use for which it's all purportedly developed is a bit sad.
