"practically impenetrable" means that no one thinks it's worth it to expose the flaws (and there are flaws.. ) in Linux..

I don't pretend to understand hackers, (I think they're a degenerate bunch).. but there's three possible reasons for this:
a) Windows is easier to hack
b) They can cause more damage by attacking Windows (90% of market share vs. 4% or soemthing for Linux)
c) Irrational hatred of Microsoft

A few comments:
a) is at least partially related to the increased functionality in MS programs.. scripts can be remarkably powerful tools that can do a lot of good.. but they can also be used for attacks..
b) a lot of this can be mitigated by proper security practices
c) a number of people on Zdnet exhibit this :->
