Anytime you hand over your card in the real world, there's a potential for fraud. A few seconds are all that's needed to obtain number, check code, name etc - they can also photocopy it or if necessary employ a card reader.

Of course, shopkeepers, vendors and waiters are all so ethical, I don't have to worry about it.

If we are looking at card security - don't forget the real world.
