That dog was never stable and never reliable and we all couldn't wait to get off of it back when it was supported.
Maybe it really is time to get a new PC and the free OS that comes with it... they can be had for ~$350 from Dell and I guarantee they'll run circles around your <1Ghz/256MB machines.
