How many people out there are really in desperate, immediate danger of someone actually using the hole on them? Answer: Very few (if any) typical IE users. If you aren't making yourself a target and practice safe browsing habits (as Loverock pointed out), you are going to be reasonably safe until the official patch comes out. Why take a chance with a possibly infected or otherwise messed up third-party patch?
