Where's the problem here??
I don't even remotely profess to know anything about server configuration or server logic. But, it's ludicrous to suggest that this is even an issue! Simply program the server to only send so many messages to an address in a specified period of time. End of DDOS threat! Period!!

I'm fairly certain if I can figure that out, Network Administrators all over the globe can figure it out. I'm not sure why this even made headlines!
