Get with the times
Wireless (cellular) broadband is usable and affordable now. When I send staff out into the field to do audits, etc..., they use a cellular broadband service to connect via Citrix back to the office so that data never has to be stored on the laptop. No passwords are stored, no account details, no client data.

And there is no excuse to have a laptop stolen unless its ripped from the person's hands and the theif litteraly has to run off with it.

Leaving a laptop loaded with data sitting around unattended would be like a bank leaving money laying around unattended.

Hopefully, someone lost their job for this and will be blacklisted from the industry....
