You also forgot to mention that MS is working with AMD to protect its highest priority which is its Windows monopoly business (protection for the homeuser/corporate user is secondary). It's all about money and power.

Bill Gates would not pay attention to security for homeuser/corporate user if there were no threats to Windows out there. Linux is the reason he is now paying attention to security for users.
