Is security getting any easier?

MS controll of computers: Microsoft deliberately designed Windows, Explorer and Outlook as open collaborating programs so they could PUSH information to the end user.
It wouldn't have been all that hard to design an e-mail system where recipient controls who can send messages or a network that rejects all but permitted clients to connect, but the prospect of advertising dollars, controlling consumers, and Bill Gates' vision of the perfect computer world is the obstacle.
