How come nobody ever seems to remember WinME?

And personally, I believe the truth is in the middle. After all, there ARE OS models that are more secure by design than other OSes. Windows has been, after all, usually run by people who have administrator privledges (unlike any of the 'Nixes) and lots of other ways that people have even been enouraged to use bad security policies. Have you ever tried to run Windows in the regular user mode?? It's barely usable. I tried it once with a friends kid's accounts and they couldn't even play Age of Empires II... a MICROSOFT video game.... in anything other than administrator mode.

It DOES appear as if Microsoft has been very security focused and since they designed the new OS from the ground up with that focus in mind; I believe they probably made some fundemental changes to the OS from a security standpoint. After all, it's not like they don't have SOME good people working for them and they've got 10 times the development budget Apple does. Sure it's going to be new and untried. And sure there are going to be issues and vunerabilites. But there are bound to be many changes for the better too.
