It's not about security settings!
Attacks are not succeeding because of any security settings. The problem is that XP is full of security flaws. No amount of settings can fix that. Most qualified Tech's can secure a desktop or even a server without more bloated utilities. It is the unmerchantable XP and its massive amount of poor programing which needs to be fixed(although I don't believe it is fixable). Bill Gates is talking about anything but the real issues hoping that we will be so enrapt by yet more XP code that we will forget the real issue. The problem is not even related to what we can do to secure our IT. We already have every tool we need. The security issues are where security should not even be an issue. XP is full of flaws. There are no security tools that can even address the real problem. Stop the rhetoric from Bill Gates and make him fix the programming flaws. This is so totally unbelievable! I don't think the tech press really has a clue about what the real IT world. You aren't getting it from those who actually work with IT. I doubt Bill Gates even knows how to sit down in front of an XP machine and secure it.
