Actually MS responds very quickly to customer demands
That's how we got this insecure OS called Windows on the desktop of almost every PC out there. People didn't want security back in the 90s and Bill Gates gave them as system that had little to no security. Look at Windows 3.1 and 95, no security at all.

Now with all the virus and a secure alternative in MAC and Linux Microsoft has to do something.

Novell always had security yet people dumped Novell for Microsoft because they didn't like all that pesky security. It got in the way. Unix is just as bad. Now people realize just what that security was worth and demand it from Microsoft.

Microsoft is famous for giving the customer what they want but not what they need.
