Best reason I've ever heard for a debit card.
"I am one of those people that have a problem with credit cards. It is too easy to see it as spendable money with a bill that doesn't come in for 30 days. I am not ashamed of this because I realized I had a problem before it became an issue.."

I can't argue with this. Doing things a certain way can have powerful psychological effects, and if it works for you then by all means, this is the right choice! The only thing I would add is if you match a debit card with overdraft protection on your checking account, some might see the same temptation to let a bill roll past one month. Alternately, if you see a CC as something you always pay off every month, it really works the same way as a debit card (but with the advantages I mentioned). So, really it all boils down to what works best for you.
