Upside to Debit Cards

I am one of those people that have a problem with credit cards. It is too easy to see it as spendable money with a bill that doesn't come in for 30 days. I am not ashamed of this because I realized I had a problem before it became an issue & we have ONE for emergencies that is not used except for a gas purchase every other month to keep it open with the money in savings to pay it off before the charge is made. If we don't want it bad enough to save for it, we don't need it. BUT - I frequently work hours that have me out at night & I don't like to carry a lot of cash even in the day time. One other thing...most people don't know this, but you have a pin # to most regular credit cards for cash back AND, in most cases, you can disable those pin #s on both regular CCs & DCs. My debit card can only be used as a credit card & requires a photo ID (a code comes up for the cashier to check ID) on both of the checking accts we have. I have one ATM card. My cards also have per day limits. To each his own.
