Depends if you can get a credit card
Just from my experience here I find that having too good of credit or too bad of credit excludes you from getting a credit card.

So when I had no credit rating back when I was 18 they gave me a card. I ran into loan trouble about 10 years ago, the bank just lost the loan. They wouldn't let me pay it. They then forwarded a stack of unknown loans to a collection agency to sort out. I got the call about the loan and promptly paid it but since I paid a collection agency I got bad credit. Couldn't get a credit card no matter what, not even a secured one. They figured I was a bad risk and they'd lose money on me.

Fast forward a decade an my credit rating was great. I could go into bank and borrow money no questions asked. Apply for Mortage was not trouble either. But try for a credit card and I get declined because they figure they won't make money off me.

Finally I did get a credit card due to dealing with the bank so much. They just pushed it through. So now I have $1000 limit and they won't increase it but I can get $50,000 line of credit. What's with that? I think credit card companies are only interest in people they know can pay and people they know can dig themselves into hole with interest payments.
