Just Curious

A lot of people are claiming that Microsoft is to blame for these viruses. I am curious how many of those who make this claim have been infected by these e-mail viruses. I am going to guess that that number is probably next to none. The reason for this is that the people making these claims are computer educated and savvy enough not to open suspicious e-mail attachments.

Although, I don't doubt that Windows has significantly more security holes than does linux, socially engineered viruses would be a problem with any operating system. Viruses such as these spread because ignorant people open e-mails that they should not. I love linux, don't get me wrong, but it is not perfect. That being so, these, security holes would be found and exploited and outbreaks would take place no matter which OS was on the desktop. Microsoft is not to blame for user ignorance.

Also, I might mention that yesterday, when mi2g stated that Linux was the most hacked operating system, people came to Linux defense by blaming the admins for not properly locking the system down. If you are going to blame the user, which I think is fair, at least try to be consistent.
