Here is my $.02--
Last week, the GnuPG group discovered a bug and had a fix in a few hours for their encryption system.

I updated two Linux boxes and a FreeBSD box inside of 15 minutes from ONE source code download. I then cross-compiled a new version for Windows on one of the Linux boxes from the same source code. Twenty minutes start to finish, and four boxes with four OS's are updated. No big deal.

Updates are part of computing life. Be glad we can just update software instead of constantly replacing it!!
