I don't mean to confuse you with facts since your 'mind?' is obviously made up. Linux is considered by most knowledgable people to be an upgrade to every Windows release through Win2K. There are 3 or 4 distros which are considered to be at least at parity witn WinXP. Yes, there are differences and yes, you will have to learn some new things, just as you had to when learning Windows. For most Windows users, the move to Linux is easy to the point of transparency unless you WANT to play with CLI. My 'blue haired' mother is hardly an expert and loves her Linux. Before you criticize Linux, it might help to get at least a rudimentary working knowledge of that which you wish to tear down.
