Never put stuff on your PC you can't afford to lose!
This is why you never put anything on your computer you can't afford to lose. If you really need to keep it Back it up at lease once a week or month. CD's and DVD's are so cheap these day's you can back up your important data once a week for about $.50 to $2 depending on how much data you want to back up.

I make a DVD back up of the data I would like to keep one a week and it cost me about $30 for a good 50 Pack of DVD's and that is a years worth of backups. So for that $300 I could have 10 YEARS of backups.
