And It's Worse if You're a Home User
For home user's, the extent of McAfee's support is an online forum manned, apparently, by people who paid to become "McAfee techs" or whatever their title.

McAfee came pre-installed (anti-virus, firewall, and spamkiller - now there's a scary program name) as a trial program on my new PC. Thought I'd give it a try. In under a month, I went back to AVG and ZoneAlarm.

After every update (usually daily), the program needs to connect to the web to "verify" and you're required to put in your email/password info. It's annoying, interrupts work, and cannot be turned off. I guess I was fortunate that this problem didn't get me. But then again, I didn't run Excel this weekend. Maybe I better double check.

Symantec - No no no no no
McAfee - No no no no no
