when MS was trying to get folks to move from Win3.11 to Win95, and then from Win95 to Win98, and then from Win98 to Win2000, and then from Win2000 to WinXP.

The thing is that now everybody has a net connection and automatic updates. Since SP2 people are getting used to the idea of Microsoft going in and tinkering with their PC once a month.
