All this test will prove is that Apache on OSX is as secure as any of the thousands and thousands of Windows IIS servers that aren't ever hacked. Yippee!

I still think the importance of the last contest is being totally missed. While it isn't a remote exploit by itself, the privilege escalation exploit combined with social engineering means that malware targetting OSX gets root access, something the Mac zealots have sworn was OSX's biggest advantage over a default XP install.

Personally I think it is completely disingenuous for the UofW contest owner to even suggest that his contest is testing anything comparable to what the first contest was testing. I suppose it only proves that bias exists in both directions, as if we didn't already know that. happy
