ZDNet Faces Scrutiny
What do ZDNet and Rohypnol have in common? The ability to
tranquilize it's users then insert it's agenda. Here it is folks OSX
hacked: discuss. As though this has been the first time an Apple
OS has been compromised. So lets set up the technically capable
Windows IT lords against the vocal Apple flakes and watch the
fur fly. The platform agnostic can circle overhead and snipe. It's
getting old.

It's particularly tiresome as the hair splitting reaches a new level
of detail and acrimony. All over the wrong issue. The product...
opinions and indeterminate conclusions.

Let's count Mac vulnerailities!

Whatever.

Instead of doom saying and vague predictions, perhaps we
should look at the record to date. Apple would love to have
Microsoft's market share and Microsoft would love to have
Apple's customer loyalty, gui, security record over the last 6
years, iPod division, industrial design, and ceo. Did I miss
anything?

After hammering home the notion that Apple is inconsequential
to IT, Windows IT can't stop talking about HOW inconsequential
it is. This argument has been defined as the slap that the Apple
users dearly needed for their arrogance in the face of security
concerns. To have spoken about 6 years of virus free computing
was an affont to the massive Windows base. Is it arrogance, or
simply history?

As Apple moves quickly to rectify the vulnerability, Windows IT is
dutifully notified of a nagging problem. More vindication, more
discussion, more left handed validation for a industry that is
facing pressure and having it's judgement questioned. The
catalyst for those questions? The Apple record.

It's clear why holes in the Apple get such play. The choice of
subject continues to be much more telling than the subject's
content.
