Confused?
"what about Red Hat or Novell or IBM or Sun or HP, to name a
few? Would they all submit to this?"

You do understand open source right? RH and Novell provide
source for the projects they use, IBM provides source for its
open source projects (e.g. eclipse). Sun try opensolaris, I'm not
sure what HP project you're talking about.

"What hinders open source, and I've worked with Unix for years
and years, and always will is the lack of standards."

I'm confused? Lack of standards? What like open source doesn't
support POP, SMTP, SSL, ascii, etc. Just what are these standards
you're talking about.

"It's too hard to fit all the pieces together without going with the
corporate versions that are becoming closed due to the lack of
viability with the open source business model."

Just how does the corporate version of sendmail differ in
support from the open source version. Looks like the poor under
threat MSCEs are starting to feel left out. There is another Vista
vapourware article to get excited about;-)
