The Feds sponsor a study like this using an open source company? Are we to believe that this is in anyway scientific of accounts for logic errors and vulnerabilities? You'd be lucky if it's even picking up all the syntax errors. This is just crazy.
And you look at the products on this list and non of them are enterprise ready or complex pieces of code. They are all standard off the shelf senior year level projects. I don't think MS would notice this let alone worry about it. People look for the best all around product, service and long term price and Windows wins hands down. Just XP alone comes with all of these components. Get the free version of SQL Server and you've got something comparable to this running on a 3 year old Toshiba.
