IBM And Novell have been working towards this through Liberty Alliance. The problem was Microsoft chose not to participate in Liberty Alliance, again chosing their own route. Now Microsoft claims they have an answer to all the pitfalls to Hailstorm and Open Source replies saying, that's not good enough, we can do it better.

You can also say that America invented various electronic devices and Japan just copied them. This although true doesn't reflect that Japan also improved upon them as well as made them cheaper.

Stick with your Pro Microsoft Stance if you will, but Open Source is straightening up Microsoft's crooked path.
