Whether it was on the CD or on the laptop, it could have been stolen either way. Using the net is no safer either. With packet sniffers and the NSA's intercepting and decyphering programs spying on average users and possibly companies alike.

Way to go, McAfee! Smooth move, Ex-Lax! silly Makes me wonder what your idea of "secure" realy is.
