Pretty much says it all
"'Wait a minute--Microsoft's software is causing the problem, and now they want me to pay extra to fix the problem?'" Pescatore said, summing up the reaction of some corporations to Microsoft's move toward selling security software.

That's right. Because at MSFT, you're not just a customer, you're a revenue stream!

But don't worry, not everyone will have to pay for protection, just like not everyone has to tolerate product activation. The biggest MSFT customers negotiate sweet deals for themselves. Deals that include no activation disk images, free training, and they'll also probably get either free security coverage or get it at a greatly reduced price.

But not you. Hehe. You little MSFT poopies will get the dirty end of the stick, as usual. You get to pay for the OS, then pay for "protection" from the OS you paid for. Pay, pay, pay. That's what MSFT users do. Oh, and you can't upgrade your hardware without re-activating the software you paid for. And if you change motherboards, you're screwed. You have to buy a new copy of the OS. Come on, when MSFT started product activation you knew that was coming.

And still the same justification for upgrading...security. I heard that same line of bs about Windows 2000 and XP. MSFT's most secure operating systems ever. And I'm sure Vista will be, too. For about a month.

MSFT is a little like big government. If you keep taking it, you're going to keep getting it. Until you grow the nads to throw the bums out.
