I think M$ is deliberately and systematicaly trying to destroy XP to force users to Vista.
It may seem like it, but I really doubt that. What they've done in the past is wait for a nasty exploit to come around and drag their feet getting the patch out. Suggesting all the while that users upgrade to Vista, which isn't affected by said nasty. The patch will be out in three weeks or upgrade to Vista. And then they'll offer a new version of media player with a little dancing bear or something, upgrade to Vista and get a free dancing bear!
That's their usual MO. The problems you're experiencing are probably just normal problems associated with any Windoze box connected to the internet. Which is a freak show on a good day.
If you really want to know what's going on behind the scenes, get yourself a copy of Ethereal. It's FOSS and it will let you see everything that Windows does connected to the internet. You'll be surprised how much is going on, even on a clean install. Your Windoze box is doing a lot of outside communication on a regular basis. It's interesting and you'll learn a lot. - Posted by: Chad_z Posted on: 02/22/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
