Welcome to our world.
Hey, how's it feel to be defending OS X from security criticisms now? I won't be candid, I'm enjoying every damn minute of this.

First and foremost, I run the standard system and on my machine, the "demonstration" at Secunia's website gave me a file that woulnd't even open.

Crazy. That's like when a bunch of Mac users say that Windows is flawed, stupid, inferior, antiquated and vulnerable, and yet I don't have any problems with my Windows.

Secondly, how you define 3 as "several" is great. Awesome use of math.

Ahem. And I believe it's English.

We're still waiting for the same crap to be patched by Microsoft.

Yes, damn Microsoft for focusing on current critical patches, instead. Get a firewall -- then you really don't even need automatic updates for Windows. Crazy, huh?

Third, none of these are viruses. None.

The fact that they can be used as such notwithstanding.

In fact, they can only be defined as something else.

Vulnerabilities. Like they've all been defined as. Vulnerabilities which, whenever one arises for Windows, Mac users are quick to make some coy and ultimately stupid one-liner about Windows and it's "inept" security.

But *nix was well aware of what the hell a network was YEARS before Windows got out of it diapers, and Windows is *still* crappin' in its pants today.

Fantastic maturity.

Do you see what I'm getting at? For years, Mac users have posted about Windows being inferior in security, suffering from viruses, malware etc. It wasn't a possiblity, Mac zealots were damn convinced every internet-connected copy of Windows was flawed, dead and suffering under malware.

Yet here I am, operating ten computers from five manufacturers on Windows. Now it's OS X's turn for the round of assault, and here you stand doing the same damn thing Windows users have been doing for years -- defending Mac OS X from security criticisms. Only one problem, in all the years of bashing Windows' security, you all whined and moaned about OS X's "invulnerability" to these trivial things.

Ahh, man. What comes around goes around. I am so totally celebrating this week.
