There should be a penalty for these people
I am a Linux user and advocate, but I also understand the law when it comes to copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. If these people KNOWINGLY posted restricted IP on the net, they deserve criminal prosecution.

This is not a cat and mouse game, this is a crime and it should be punishable as a crime. Those in the free software community who think otherwise need to grow up. MS has a right to invoke IP protection as much as we might think that IP law to be flawed and abused. The place to challenge IP law is in the Congress and in the Courts, not in the streets through criminal behaviour. I sincerely hope that MS prosecutes.
