Macs (OS X) are set up the same way as Linux as far as
security goes. You need an Admin password to install
anything. OS X is based on FreeBSD, one of the most secure
unixes available. I seriously doubt that with 90% market
share that OS X would have 10% of the virus, worm & trojan
problems that Windows has, and I'm being generous with
that 10%.

Unix and it's variants are secure by design, not secure thru
obscurity.
