Worse, big companies have hijacked Linux for their own wants.
Money.

Thin clients sold for big bucks use Linux to help shed research costs. (so Gates and Jobs can tell us all to study engineering; they know darn well that there's no profit in any research unless it involves an opaque blue case or if it's for a new variant on the Xerox-created GUI that means more training and upkeep costs... we're a circular 'society'. Stunted. Soon to be a state of decay.)

Heck, even the much vaunted creators-of-the-universe (Apple) leeched off of open source and stamped their big-booty name on it while not dropping a penny off the prices of their products - shameful. (I read some time ago they were going to give back... have they? Or are they all a bunch of empty words too? In which case they may as well go into politics instead.)
