- Soooo many stolen phones
-
I doubt I would give my identity to a mobile phone or PDA. There are soooo many stolen phones and PDA, that I would really prefer a device like a classic smart card, that you ideally don't need to remove from your pocket (connected with RFID) and containing biometric information like a fingerprint, validated by the smart card. This wouldbebetter than the 4-digits code that you have to enter on a terminal.
A combination of security items would beeven better: an RFID card remaining in your wallet or in your wear that contains and validates a public/private key pair, a classic smart card you enter into a terminal that can keep it secured in case of too many errors, and a fingerprint instead of the 4-digits code.
The worst being user's memory which fails and forces(if it's too complicated) the user to write it on a clear sheet of paper.
Well, the phone or PDA may be that RFID-like device, but not isolately. But the worst for mobile phones is in its batteries you have to constantly recharge (batteries discharged would mean a door closed, and unfortunately, there's no standard connections to charge your mobile phone or PDA.
Time to integrate a standard USB plug in mobile phones, and make it the standard plug to recharge them everywhere with a USB hub? - Posted by: PhilippeV Posted on: 02/14/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
