Is it just me?
No, it ain't just you....

The new spam law has relatively little teeth in it, i.e., it's all bark. It requires the enforcing body to, once again, jump through hoops to get a conviction on any of the law breakers. Lawmakers are so predictable these days, making sure they don't step on too many toes in the business world. What they end up with is a law that will only apply to the most egregious offenders, a few percent at most. This leaves the majority of the spammers to continue their deeds with no thought of stopping.

If they would select a dozen or so of the small-time spammers, prosecute with stiff fines, and publicize the court findings, it just might begin to deter others.

Nothing will happen until the offenders start getting spanked.
