I don't normally use Konqueror but for times that I do I think it will be worthwhile to patch and recompile or get a patched version.

As far as someone taking over my machine through a Konqueror security hole I will simply repeat what never seems to penetrate: Any arbitrary code will only have my permissions and will only be able to wreck what I could do when logged in as myself.

That being said, if you run as root you could use some lessons in security even if you are unfortunate to get them from a system cracker. In that case blaming the victim would actually be appropriate (nudge, nudge. wink,wink.) (^;
