Configuration
Why is it every MS virrus that comes down the pipe writes to %system% & %Systemroot% 2 directories that by default are not writeable by normal users.

If the average user created an admin user and used runas for administrative functions for installing programs there would be far less exploits.

Now I know certian programs require Admin rights but that is exactly what runas is for just like sudo in nix based platforms although less granular.

goto http://securityresponse.symantec.com/

And try and find a virus that doesnt copy to system folders, I doubt there are many.

This is one of the reasons why you dont see viri like this on linux, unix or OSX becuase the exe would fail because the user doesnt have sufficient rights to write to /bin /usr/bin /etc or anywhere else outside of thier profile, thus user stupidity cant infect the entire system.

There are 2 types of exploits system and configuration, can you guess which one this is?
