So you keep the door and fix the window. Simple.

If you stopped requiring the 6-inch steel door, and then fixed the window with glass block, then the point of failure is now the door. So then what would the response to that be? Why require glass block windows when you can get in through the door?

Security is something that you either do right, or you don't ... and you are always as vulnerable as your weakest point. However, that doesn't mean that one should ignore some key areas because other key areas are already exposed.
