The potential for abuse is HUGE...
Image if someone who hated you worked for the NSA. Wouldnt you be scarred that this person could tap into your private conversations "on the job" and without a warrant? He/she could easily gather enough information to ruin your life! He/she could hand the info over to a professional identity thief. He/she could learn when your not going to be home, credit card numbers, who your dating, etc.... The list goes on forever. I say NO! I say the civil right to private communication should NOT be thrown away!
