Sooo... you won't mind if I listen in on your phone conversations.
That's what you're pretty much saying.
Regular people are being caught up in the "broad net" you speak of.
So if you say "I had a blow up with my [significant other] over how I cut the bushes" the supercomputer will pick out your conversation, and wham... someone is listening in. "Well, the person said 'blow up' and 'bush' in the same breath, so we had a right."
I'm no different than the guy listening in at the NSA... HEY, LET"S JUST BROADCAST PHONE CONVERSATIONS ON THE RADIO. No need for privacy!

After all what can you say that you don't want anyone else to hear?
