I'm not aware that the U.S. Constitution ever singled out single form of media. The part of the Constitution that covers email services is Freedom of Speech. The basic implication of that wonderful First Amendment is that you do not impede on the right of others to communicate to their audience.

Nowhere in the First Amendment does it say this only applices to (for example) a microphone, a printed flyer, a banner attached to the back of a bi-plane, or even email services. The First Amendment is all-encompassing and the First Amendment applies to any medium that the communicator chooses to communicate through.
