Love em', but...
I love Microsoft products. I use them every day and am extremly happy with their OS, Office, etc.

But...

This is a very simliar tactic to selling a car without locks on it...then going to a 3rd party or wait, the manufacture will sell you LOCKS ON A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE!

We wouldn't stand for it.

I know it will be a considerable investment of time and money on their part, but if they really wanted to win people over, they need to sell the OS, sell the Office suite, but for security and antivirus, they should give it away free.

Although then, we'd all think they were just trying to pull the rug out from under McAfee and Symantec by giving it away so they can break their companies...

If I made you a piece of software, then charged to make it safe, I don't think you'd buy my software.
