- The guards are guarding the guards of course. You probably voted them there. But have a quick look in your wallet - how much privacy have you given up already via your drivers license, frequent flier program, hotel loyalty program and your phone account. More than you would care to imagine I would bet. Biometrics can be either "privacy enhancing" or "privacy degrading". Iris recognition happens to fall in the former camp. Various privacy authorities are inclined to think so at least. That your personal data is not linked to your iris data is an architecture that helps encourage that thinking anyway -and makes the sheep a little more comfortable at least.
